The sea remembers what we forget. It remembers the shape of our first step, the colour of a sky that did not yet know it would one day be painted.
In this triptych, the Mediterranean is not a place—it is a condition. On the left, flesh emerges from stone and shell. In the centre, a green figure rises, suspended between the human and the vegetable. On the right, mountains burn with a sunset that has not yet happened, or one that happened so long ago that even the stones have forgotten.
Youth is not a time. It is a place you carry with you—the sea inside the body, the salt in the blood, the memory of a warmth no winter can erase.
Đurović does not paint the Mediterranean. He paints what it left behind.
