Paradise keeps a door that opens both ways. In Đurović’s canvas, the garden is blue and beautiful, and something with teeth is already inside it. A pale beast descends from above, jaws open, while below the flowers bloom in red and white as if nothing were wrong.
Three women stand among the flames and feathers. One is dressed in black, watching. One holds a raven. One turns her face away. A white ram rests at the bottom, patient, surrounded by chrysanthemums and small burning fruit.
This is the moment the painting refuses to resolve: heaven and hell sharing the same light, the same breath, the same silence.
