Ascension begins quietly. The body rises the way heat rises—slowly, without announcement, leaving behind everything that once held it down. In Đurović’s canvas, the earth is still visible below: roots, shells, the last reminders of gravity. Above, the air opens into something brighter, something that has been waiting.
Between the two worlds, the figure hangs suspended, neither here nor there, neither living nor finished. This is the interval the painter loves most: the breath between the ground and the sky, the moment when departure becomes arrival and arrival becomes something else entirely.
