Danger arrives as a shadow, and the shadow arrives as beauty. In Shadow of Danger, Željko Đurović lets two figures rise from a cold blue mist—a boy with a halo, a woman crowned with horns, holding a dark flowering staff. Around them, wings dissolve into water, and water dissolves into wings.
Below, a pale beast crouches, watching. On the right, a single band of red burns like a wound in the grey.
This is the moment before something happens—the held breath, the quiet room, the sense that the danger has been here all along and simply waited to be seen.
